Route:Soest - Utrecht - Vianen - Almere - Soest - Amersfoort - Almere Buiten
Chasepartner(s):Ben Lankamp

CHASE LOG:
Active storms formed over southern parts of the country and these were moving north. Ben and I decided it was worth a chase and we drove towards Vianen. Here the storms passed to our west and we hoped to have good visibily here. Unfortunately contrast was poor, but we did see and hear many lightning strikes!
We tried to geat ahead of sthe storm, but traffic wasn't cooperating. There were traffic jams everywhere and while on the road we heard that KNMI (Dutch NWS) issued a so-called 'weeralarm', severe weather warning:

Well, chasing was no option with this traffic. We tried using the A1 highway, but it was hopeless. We called it a day and I brought Ben home. Later that evening another storm complex came in from the east and I went into the open fields again. There I tried to catch lightning during twilight and had some success!
