During the early evening a nice storm passed my hometown. The low angle of the sun provided brilliant contrast and the great view I have from my appartment made me shoot a couple of photos. While photographing the approaching low topped shower I suddenly saw a powerful CG striking about 5 km's to my southwest. Whoa, the first CG I have seen since my move from Soest to Utrecht!
It turned out to be the only lightning this storm would produce, but the storm was still a wonderfull sight. Most precip fell to my west and the nice fallstreaks suggested that the shower was a great hail/graupel producer. Then, when the anvil showed itself, wonderful mammatus clouds appeared! A really nice sight indeed.
