We drove to the far south of Texas to a slight-risk area just ahead of a cold front. Near Big Spring we saw convection over the mountains to the south and near Ozona we were underneath it's anvil. It was filled with mammatus clouds. Further south, almost near the Mexican border, we gave up as pavement on the road became dirt. We saw a 5 inch big tarantula here and the sky was filled with vultures. The storm had a strange looking wall cloud.
On our way home we saw a nice sunset on cirrus and altocumulus. We stopped near I-10 for some photos. |
