During the evening hours an active looking storm on radar over southwestern parts of the Netherlands was slowly moving northeast. As I had just arrived home from a Bristol-flight and was too tired to chase, I watched the cell from a hill in Soest. It was a spectacular sight though! A menacing looking shelf approached quite
rapidly and I had to take photos rather quickly. Due to dusk contrast was
rather poor and I had to use longer exposure times. The shelf passed with some moderate wind gusts, but nothing really spectacular. Below are some photos taken between 21:50 and 22:10 LT.
Lightning activity had ceased well before the storm arrived at my location,
so again no lightning photos. It has been ages since my last good lightning
shot!
