As I had the day off from work and there was a possibility of storms near Lake IJsselmeer, I tried my luck in catching a spout again. When I arrived near the lake, skies were rather blue and a storm was visible over Noord Holland. So I drove to Enkhuizen, but got stuck in traffic there. The storm didn't look that interesting anymore, so I headed back to the lake to play the waiting game. There I saw a distant storm over Friesland, but that was no real goal. After about an hour I went home.
In the evening a couple of storms move to my hometown Soest, from the south. I gave Ben a notice and went to the hill in the centre of town, an excellent vantage point. Ben arrived somewhat later and we waited a couple of minuted. Then, out of nowhere, a storm formed over our heads on some sort of outflow boundary. It was visibly quite striking and we anticipated the occurence of lightning, but it didn't form.
