Eastern parts of Oklahoma haven't got the best landscape for stormchasing. Lots of hills and trees, so very poor vision. We found some storms in the beginning of the evening in the southeast of Oklahoma. The storms tried to organize, but they failed.
We picked one storm, which showed a nice lowering at the base.
The lowering became nothing spectacular, but lightning was showing up frequently now.
It was clear now that we would be photographing lightning for quite a while this evening.Bright flash, but unfortunately the wind made the tripod move.
Later we were shooting lightning somewhere else in Oklahoma. We had to cross a flooded road to get there!
Above the hills CG's came down frequently, but because of the moisty conditions the strikes were very low contrast.
We ended up in a kind of flooded Sherman, Texas. Even the parking of our motel got 2 feet of water! |
