July 31 2002:
The heatwave continues. Yesterday many places got 32°C or more, my thermometer measured 35,1°C!
Yesterday afternoon a couple of airmass thunderstorms formed over central parts of The Netherlands. They were fun to watch, but not that impressive. In the evening a more organised storm passed the country form east to west. It became a straightline wind event! Also a couple of nice CG's.


July 29 2002:
Summer has arrived! Since last friday afternoon sun sun sun and high temperatures! Yesterday many places got 30°C or more and also today it will be hot.
Thunderstorms from tomorrow on??


July 21 2002:
Yesterday evening showers and storms returned to The Netherlands. Southern parts of the country got some active thunderstorms. I saw a couple of weak ones over Soest.
Today a surface low combined with a very unstable airmass caused many showers and storms to form. Reports of thunder and soft hail and even three spouts/tornadoes were observed!
Temperatures are quite low though.


July 18 2002:
A couple of fine summerdays with no precipitation here in central Holland. With highs between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius and lots of sunshine it was very pleasant.
I hope to update my site soon!


July 13 2002:
A low in the upper air caused locally heavy storms today. Some produced thunder and in Lottum, Limburg, fell more than 50 mm rain.


July 10 2002:
After two days with warm temperatures, thunderstorms formed and less warmer air moved in.
I've chased one of these storms in Flevoland, which was quite active. It had a nice shelf cloud and produced torrential rainfall and high wind gusts. No nighttime lightning photography unfortunately.

Due to servercapacityproblems I can't update this site anymore, incl. the webcamimages. I'm working on it!


July 6 2002:
Still no real summerweather, but next week could give higher temperatures and some thunderstorms!

Last week I bought myself a new digital camera, the Olympus C3020 ZOOM.

My site, weatherpictures.nl, is online for one year now and got almost 25000 hits. Thank you!


July 2 2002:
Added new Photo of the Month.

It's July now, so it's supposed to be summer. Well, it looks more like autumn overhere! Lots of wind and rain and yesterday a high of only 13.8°C in Soest.
I did see a nice rainbow yesterday evening!
